The next morning dawned and we decided to give Katy’s number one last try and to our surprise, she answered….after a brief chat where we discovered that she hadn’t been able to hear our messages etc etc, we organised to delay our bus trip down to Washington and make our way out to New Brunswick to see her, her new bubs and her mom, Jo. We caught a Septa train to Trenton , NJ and then another one to NB. One thing we have noticed all through our travels is how little is available to those in wheelchairs as far as access goes - we have struggled up and down so many flights of stairs getting into subways, onto trains etc…I really don’t know how disabled people manage…guess they don’t !I will be surprised if our bags survive this trip as we have given them some rough rides….
Anyway, we had a couple of lovely hours with them all - Briella is absolutely beautiful and Katy so calm and relaxed, and so happy to be a mom…it was so good to see them all. Katy and Eli have 2 dogs too - one is a retropoodle ? - mix of Retriever and poodle - real cute and soft though large. We had a yummy vege soup and bagels - did you know they are each worth 6 slices of bread in calories etc -? and then did the 2 hour trip in reverse….waited 2 hours for the next bus and got into Washington DC 3 hours later, at about midnight, quite exhausted.
We tried to figure out how to get to our hotel but there were no maps at all and no help from staff, so we decided to get a taxi - rare thing for us but it was late. ….. but there were none around…a guy approached us and said he was taxi but didn’t have his plates on….then another guy came and started arguing about who would take us and for how much…Glenn wasn’t keen to go with either and lucky for us, he was right in refusing to go with them !!!! A real taxi came along just then and pulled us into his taxi - he told us those guys were no good and we would probably have been robbed if we’d gone with them…. we were very happy that we didn’t…… our hotel was actually in Arlington, Virginia, just over the Potomac River from the capital…. the room was fairly run down and smelly but cheap so who cared!!

Thanks for the update Heath. We have been watching the site with interest waiting for an update. It must be hard finding a computer that you can use. I’m very glad that you and Glenn are doing ok on your travels.
Looking forward to the next episode.
Love … Tim.
